ACA understands how important giving back is to the community, especially to our seniors and homeless veterans. For over four years, ACA has held an annual clothing drive in support of the Justa Center. During this drive, we asked our valued partners, family, and friends to come together to help donate warm clothing, blankets, and personal hygiene items. Once the items were collected the items are then donated directly to the Justa Center for distribution.

The Justa Center is a day resource center for homeless seniors that was found in 2006 in the metro Phoenix area. Each day the Justa Center sees approximately 130 seniors and almost 50 percent are Veterans. The Justa Center is also working to help senior homeless veterans rebuild their lives for the better by providing housing assistance, nutrition assistance, basic health care, and mental health counseling, as well as personal development and aftercare.

Many shelters require the following items to help with day-to-day operations.
Some of the items include but are not limited to:

  • Coffee
  • Creamer
  • Paper Towels
  • Laundry Soap
  • Furniture
  • Toilet Paper
  • Cleaning Products
  • Warm Clothing/New Socks
  • Paper Plates
  • Sugar
  • Facial Tissues
  • Hand Soap
  • Books and Magazines
  • Unopened Toiletries
  • Office Supplies (Paper, Pens, etc.)
  • Reading Glasses
  • Styrofoam Cups
  • Computers

ACA would like to thank everyone who donated to our clothing drive. If you would like to help support such a great cause in your area please reach out to your local homeless shelters and ask how you can help provide support today. It could be as easy as providing a few clothing items or just spending a couple of hours helping to distribute items to the homeless.
