What is Aging in Place?

Let’s hear from Dave the Nurse on just how important it is to our senior family members.

Here’s the truth. Imagine this, imagine getting to the point in your life where you can no longer take care of yourself, as you know it, where you’re going to go, do you go to an independent living facility? Do you go to a nursing home? Or do you stay at home? At the end of the day, aging in places, literally, is that. It is aging gracefully in the comforts and the luxury of your home?

So what does that mean? Especially if you’ve got family all over the United States, that means they are looking for a caregiver, someone to provide service, a nurse, someone who can give hours to their family members in the comfort and luxury of their home, so they don’t have to move. Remember, Home is where your heart is. Home is where you hang your hat.  You can’t move me out of here. I’ve been here 40 years. Why can’t you bring somebody into my home to take care of me?

We work in a beautiful industry with amazing opportunities. And that’s where the need is moving to the next 20 years, there’s going to be more people needing help than those that can deliver the services. I joke all the time the next 10 years you better know somebody in scrubs and that’s the reason why the overwhelming volume of people over the age of 65 are living longer and they want to stay in their home. So give them the services they need. The safety they needed. Help them take a shower, help them cook meals, help them bring food to and from the store so that they can live happily ever after in the comforts of their own location.

We are here to help. Contact Us if you have a senior that needs assistance to age in place.
